Last night ended up being pretty damn cool. I picked up Julianna at 7:30, and we went for a couple of long walks, first at Lincoln Park and then at Alki Beach (yes, Jamie, now I've finally been there). She's in much better shape than I am -- ballet will do that -- so I had to work hard to keep up. We had a good time walking and talking; it was a beautiful evening and she's always fun to talk to.

We had a few tense moments when we walked into the middle of a domestic dispute on Alki; we decided to get involved when the guy (short, plump, Hispanic) grabbed his girlfriend by her arm and hair and tried to drag her off, ignoring her urgent screams of protest. Fortunately the guy let go and ran like a little bitch when he saw the two scary people in black going for him with blood in their eyes...!

Eventually Julianna began to grow weary; getting up at 6 AM will do that. So I took her home and headed over to the Mercury, where I met up with Bev, Tanayle, Erin, Kyna, Rachel and Joe. Yay for 'Hamsters! We literally took over the dance floor, as the DJ spun many wonderful songs of danceableness. It was so wonderful to see and hang out with them again, and the chance to have a friendly, relatively tension-free conversation with Bev was not to be missed. Our friendship seems to be working out, even if it is still quite guarded.

An amusing side-note to all this -- the Hamsters got to meet part of my harem! I should explain: there seems to be this little group of pretty gay and bisexual goth boys who hang out at the Mercury and have crushes on me; they follow me around and buy me drinks. This causes me no small amount of amusement. They're nice boys, they really are, they just don't seem willing to accept the fact that I only like girls. :)

All in all, it was a most excellent night.

(By the way, where the hell is everyone? There isn't a soul on AIM...)

...F5 Networks, my old employer and Keeper of the Happy Job, called me yesterday. Apparently one of their software developers has left the company and moved overseas.

Ergo, there is now an opening in Development. Permanent. With F5. Lots of money, benefits, cool cow-orkers, normal M-F 9-5 working hours, located on Elliott Bay just on the other side of Denney Way from Belltown and all that.

My dream job.

And I am on the short list of candidates.

They haven't decided when they're going to open the position, but the start date wouldn't be until at least October 1st, possibly later. They may not even begin interviewing until October.

The sooner the better, folks. *meep*!

Pease, dear gods, let me get this job. Let me get this job.
