web comics reprised
Feb. 7th, 2002 10:21 pmHere's the thing:
if Pete Abrams could
1) Do the dark, serious stuff all the time instead of usually being goofy, and
2) Pick a plot line and run with it
then Sluggy Freelance would be amazing, a work of art.
Abrams keeps continually being suprised when his readers go "WOW!" when his stories get dark and dramatic. He does it really well, and he strikes some amazingly deep chords, plays with some really neat themes. Yet he does it so rarely.
Such a pity.
