Does anyone know why the heck "pound" is abbreviated to "lb."? The question trotted into my head about an hour ago and just won't leave...

In other news, it's my father's birthday today. I'll be going out to dinner with them and seeing a Japanese jazz pianist tonight at Dimitriou's.

I stayed up past my bedtime talking to first Riff, then Selena. Tired. But it was worth it.
