A team of doctors and scientists has managed to make a mouse grow a new, functional kidney using human and pig embryonic stem cells. This technique, applied to humans, should allow us to regrow organs without need for a donor, and without fear of organ rejection.

So many biotech breakthroughs this year -- it's almost starting to sound like The Future, isn't it?
