Last night smileloki treated me to an utterly extravagant dinner at Canlis, once again proving that the way to a man's heart is through the stomach (not beneath the ribs and up as some would have it).

I had:

Stolichnaya (on the rocks, with lime)
Wasyugyu Steak tartare
'00 Ravenswood Merlot
Spring greens and radish salad
Peppered filet mignon with fois gras, string beans and garlic mashed potatoes
Dessert sampler: Guava sorbet (!!), creme brulee and a truffle
A selection of various cheeses

Canlis has wonderful atmosphere, and the conversation and company were delightful. Thank you, love.

I have prodded the odd proprietary DSL modem/router that Speakeasy-Covad sent me into behaving as a mere bridge so that I can use my nice Linksys router/firewall/WAP instead.

It is, in technical terms, a happy fish.

This means that there will be DSL and wifi for you net.junkies at the party tomorrow. You ARE coming, right?
