Land in Oz
Dec. 29th, 2006 10:00 pmFrom September to December of 1997 I did volunteer work in Australia, basically backpacking about and doing work for the parks service in exchange for food and a place to stay while I saw the place. Most of that time was spent going up and down the coast from Townsville to cape Tribulation in north Queensland, though we did venture as far east as Musselbrook Gorge, which is on the Northern Territory border.
At any rate, since Allyson knows that that was a very important and life-changing period of my life, she decided to bring that to mind by buying me a bit of land there. This bit, in fact. She purchased a square meter of Queensland, Australia, which used to be part of a subtropical forest and, hopefully, now will be again, through Green Globe.
I greatly enjoyed going and looking at my land via the Google Maps satellite view; hopefully some day I shall get to visit it in person. Thank you, love!
