getting better

The project is finally coming together. All the bugs we've found so far seem to be fixed, but now it has to go to another tester for verification, followed by 3 days of verification testing. Bleah. But it's coming together, and I've started work on my next project, which will be a great deal simpler, and implemented in Perl for UNIX, two things which I adore and am very good at.

Also, a friend of mine was recently awarded grants by 3 corporations to start a network security consulting corporation. He's interested in me as a UNIX administration/security consultant, since he mostly deals with web and windows-related security issues. It wouldn't be a full-time thing or an on-site thing, and I certainly don't want to give up my beloved job at F5, but it would be interesting, and I'd learn a *lot*. So that could be cool and exciting.

Sorry I haven't been around, I have been lacking in internet access lately and have been using Shadowpixie's computer. I have only been checking my e mail about once a week, but I am alive and kicking still. Things are getting better, still doing the job search thing, and nothing has come up yet but I remain hopeful. I will try to get ahold of you sometime soon so we can chat because Seriphina said you were worried. Keep your chin up, and keep in touch or something, k?
