Oooh. That's what was missing.

See, I've reduced my caffeine intake to nearly zero.

The last few days I've been feeling half-asleep, logy, totally unproductive, and generally zombified.

(To give you some idea, I drank 3 cups of coffee this morning before I realized it was decaf.)

Two cups of REAL coffee and two handfuls of chocolate-covered espresso beans later, I feel much better.

Decaf?

Eeeew.

I envy your chocolate-covered expresso beans, though. :)

I never have understood the point of decaf.

It doesn't even taste right.

More likely than not you felt run down due to not eating enough / the right food.

Caffeine as a long term solution to being run down doesn't work. Eventually it stops helping, and it's also a diuretic which can cause calcium loss & weak bones (like osteoperosis) over time.

That would be my first thought. However, I've been eating really well. I have a fruit drink thing (frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, banana, protein powder, lime juice) for breakfast in the morning, usually either Chinese or a sandwitch and an apple for lunch, and various sorts of healthy low-fat things for dinner. I also drink 1-2 liters of water per day at work.

For the last month, I've reduced my caffeine intake to near zero. Today is the first time I've had coffee in *weeks*... and that's because if I didn't have caffeine, I would not be able to be productive. I'm seriously wondering what the heck is up with me.

Granted, I'm still recovering from the pneumonia I had the week before Con, but I would have thought I'd be back up to snuff now.

Been there, done that... Didn't have the espresso beans, (Love them dearly) but the Dr.Pepper worked just as well...

(All hail the Dark Lord Caffine)
