I got a postcard from my friend Kevin today; I met him on EFnet IRC way back in 1994, the year before the Endless September. He's 23, good-looking, a Cal Tech dropout (it was too easy), a skilled cracker and coder, and a self-made millionaire to boot. He's a bit of a rennaisance man, as well, so he likes to do things like randomly fly off to UN summits in Istanbul or whatever, which is where he is now and where I got the postcard from. He handles it all with the blase` of one who lived on four different continents before he entered his teens, and it all makes me want to spit. He's got a wonderful, biting sense of humor, though. Hence, the content of the postcard:
Six cent postcards rule. I love the American dollar, though I cringe when I see a McD.'s here.
This corporate monster we build will someday destroy us all - but the pay's not bad.

on the Bosphorus Bridge, Istanbul.
*sigh* I need to start travelling again. I haven't been off the mainland US since September, and that was just Hawaii. Feh. I want to go to Tokyo or Hong Kong. If you look at the subtleties, they're not nearly as American as people like to insist...
