Yesterday was a lot of fun. [livejournal.com profile] inevitability and I crammed into his sporty little MR2 Spider convertible and drove to Mount St. Helens and back, where Jamie took pictures and I damn near had a coronary from the altitude and the sun. We drove around. We looked at things. Jamie saw elk for the first time. There were cows. It was good.

On the drive home, two girls in a Ford Focus passed us. They had makeshift signs taped to their windows. One read "HONK IF YOU LIKE PIERCED BOOBIES!". The other was "FLASH FRIDAY! ;)". It got even weirder when they started following us. Jamie changed lanes a couple of times, and they changed into the lane right behind us. It was like some sort of bizarre vehicular flirtation.

We stopped for gas, and at that point they lost interest and kept on going. Without the Boobie Girls to entertain us, the rest of the drive was a little slow, but still pleasant. By this time, I had a nasty sunburn.

When we returned, we immediately launched into playing cooperative HALO on Legendary mode. I finally started getting good at it.

Then I headed to the Merc and saw many, many people and had quite a good time. It was when the sunburn started making me feel really loopy that I headed to IHOP and then home.

Starting today, I'm putting myself on a diet and doubling my exercise routine. I desperately need to stop gaining, start losing and get back into something more vaguely resembling shape. After Selena I went into a definite downward spiral, and I feel ugly and fat.

Oh, and I will be in Denmark for two weeks, primarily for the purpose of attending my great-grandmother's 95th birthday. I leave October 11th, and return on October 24th or thereabouts. I'll be flying standby, but I'll be able to take a direct SAS flight from Seattle to Copenhagen (over the polar cap, a 9-hour trip), rather than the long way around (Seattle to Newark to London/Oslo/Amsterdam/Munich/whatever to Copenhagen, a minimum 18-hour trip).

I would have liked to go through Amsterdam and see about dropping in on [livejournal.com profile] kamiilyaan or at least having a good debauch there by myself, but this is much cheaper, and since my parents are footing the bill, I'll be taking the cheap route.

Sigh. I want an adventure, damn it, but I have not the resources to even get to anywhere interesting.
