Day Two tells me that yesterday was not a fluke: I feel truly awake for the first time in a very long time. Not once did I start to nod off, not on the bus to work, not at work, not at all. And I slept through the night without waking up for the first time in at least three years.

A lot of things that I had ascribed to depression, or "growing up", or just plain getting old, seem to have been due to apnea. I feel emotions more intensely. My imagination seems more active.

I can think analytically again. Today I committed a bugfix for a software project written in a language I don't even know.

Gods, I'm so glad I did this.

Great news.

Just don't out-perky the cat. :)

Unlikely; I'm perky, not manic. :)

Wow, that is so great! Your description of the apnea sounded utterly nightmarish. Congrats on getting your life back.

I think the cat was seriously perturbed by the quiet last night. At around half past midnight, she strode purposefully into the living room, jumped up on the white chair in the corner, curled up, and stayed there for the rest of the evening. I've never seen her do that before in the two months that I've been here.

But good on ya with regard to the feeling alive again. I'm glad it really is a continuous process.

Most truly excellent. I know several who have benefited hugely from sleep apnea treatment. Enjoy your increased capacity for life!

Congratulations! My father has sleep apnea and we figure that it (along with emphysema) actually helped lead up to the heart disease. Breathing = the goodness.

So glad everything is going so well. *grins*

YAY!!!!!

Interesting. I've been told I snore like mad at times and it's led me to wonder about apnea too (as I get all dopey/sleepy-headed at times too)... this success of yours might provide me impetus to go have it checked out when I get back Stateside.
