mid-trip update

kespernorthIt's morning in Jerusalem, where we spent the night after touring the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, walking the Via Dolorosa, touring Yod VaShem and waiting for slow and errant American and Russian tourists to catch up with the group. We're now going to visit the ancient Roman fort of Masada, and take a swim in the Dead Sea before returning to Tel Aviv. (Which I'm looking forward to, as it's cold up here -- Jerusalem is about 2500 feet above sea level -- and we left our coats with Allyson's father in Tel Aviv).
It's been an interesting trip so far. I've seen a lot of cool old stuff. I know I promised I'd upload some pictures, but I managed to forget to bring the sync cable for the camera, so I'm afraid it'll have to wait till we get back.
Here's what we have planned for the rest of the trip:
Tomorrow: might go up to Haifa.
Thursday: Fly to Eilat, bus out to Petra, fly back to Tel Aviv that night.
Friday: Might return to Jerusalem for the day before catching our return flight to the US late that night.
Saturday evening: Stumble exhaustedly in the door of our condo, hug squirming cat, pass out.
