drunk as a skunk and happy to be here

Well, that was an unusual turn of events. I was settling in for a calm, stoic evening of homework and going to bed early, when friend Josh shows up on my doorstep, freshly back from basic training, and drags me out to Rumours Cabaret for a) Betty's show and b) getting drunk. Josh's treat.
So I sat and drank cider and watched Josh hump women on the dance floor (and, to be fair, get humped in return). We stopped by the Horseshoe after Rumours closed up to say Hi to Bev and let her know that I'd rented _Transformers: The Movie_, which I and her even newer ex-boyfriend Brady hadn't seen. So we decided to get together and watch it on Friday. Woo hoo.
Then we went to IHOP and Josh suddenly decided he had to go home right that minute, but he bought me food first. Chicken strips are good, but they're even better if you've eaten nothing but Ramen for the last month.
I dropped by AM/PM and informed Brady of the Transformery Goodness, then started walking home. Who should I see behind me but -- well, I'll be! It's SEAN MURPHY! Hi, Sean!
Turned out Sean had been at IHOP the whole time. I saw long dark hair and black clothes and for once DIDN'T think it was someone I knew. So I walked home with Sean, played him some Darkest of the Hillside Thickets mp3s, and saw him off before getting on LiveJournal to write this.
Wacky.
