We were wondering if the tentacles were retractable, or if he only mindwiped most people into forgetting them afterwards..strangely enough, the conversation about this was quite longer than it needed to be.

True. It would be damn near impossible to verify that at the time. Not that I really care what the cause is as long as the result is good. :) Some things don't need explaination.
