The project is finally coming together. All the bugs we've found so far seem to be fixed, but now it has to go to another tester for verification, followed by 3 days of verification testing. Bleah. But it's coming together, and I've started work on my next project, which will be a great deal simpler, and implemented in Perl for UNIX, two things which I adore and am very good at.

Also, a friend of mine was recently awarded grants by 3 corporations to start a network security consulting corporation. He's interested in me as a UNIX administration/security consultant, since he mostly deals with web and windows-related security issues. It wouldn't be a full-time thing or an on-site thing, and I certainly don't want to give up my beloved job at F5, but it would be interesting, and I'd learn a *lot*. So that could be cool and exciting.

...I really love Underworld.

Feh.

I'm in much too good a mood to want to get on the bus and go home.

I want to go _out_, but I can't.

If I lived in Bellingham, today would be a day I'd go down to the Interurban Trail or Boulevard Park and go for a walk.

*sigh*.

I loathe Kirkland.

Well, I've just talked to some other collision repair places in Bellingham, and they all said:

"You got an estimate from where? Oh, we use the same estimate system as they do -- there won't be more than a hundred dollars' difference."

So I guess that's right out.

Their estimate is for $6200 -- probably be more by the time the repairs would be completed.

Or I can collect the insurance and get a 1996 Concorde for $7000. (I had a 1993.) Weird, eh?

So it looks like my beloved car will be no more. *sad*

But I'll be able to get another one, I'm guessing probably by the end of March. *better*
